The technical publications listed below provided the main source of information for the Discharge Simulator.   

International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminal (ISGOTT)

The standard reference work on the safe operation of oil tankers and the terminals they serve. The contents of the Guide are frequently reviewed by the International Chamber  of Shipping, Oil Companies International Marine Forum and the International  Association of Ports and Harbours, in order to ensure that current trends in the shipping industry are reflected.

Crude Oil Washing Systems (COW)

Published by the International Maritime Organisation, and is the standard reference manual for crude oil washing systems. It contains the following:

Inert Gas Systems (IGS)

Published by the International Maritime Organisation. It contains guidelines for inert gas systems, technical requirements for inert gas systems and regulations for inert gas systems on all tankers.

MARPOL 73/78 (with latest Amendments)

Published by the International Maritime Organisation, who are responsible for keeping it up-to-date. It provides easy reference for up-to-date MARPOL requirements.

STCW 95

Published by the International Maritime Organisation. It contains guidelines for certification and training of seafarers.
